NFL and NCAA Teams Lend Support to John Kulick Golf Event
(PRWEB) October 17, 2006 -- On October 30th, golfers from the Delaware Valley will come together to play at Blue Bell Country Club in Blue Bell, PA to support the 2nd Annual John Kulick Memorial Golf Outing. The event was created to raise money for the 9-year-old daughter of local Firefighter/EMT John Kulick, who gave his life serving his country in Iraq, as a member of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. This year, the event will also include the presentation of The John Kulick Heroism Award, which will be given annually to someone who dedicated their life to the ideals that made John Kulick the man he was. This year’s recipient is Federal Firefighter Tim Staepel, a 12-year career firefighter, and IAFF Local F-61 President, who died in the line of duty. Tim left behind two young children, who will benefit along with Amanda Kulick from the proceeds of this year’s event.
In addition to having the opportunity to play on Blue Bell Country Club’s beautiful Arnold Palmer Signature Course, golfers and dinner attendees will also have the opportunity to bid on donated items from the NFL and NCAA football teams. “I have to give credit where credit is due. The success of our silent auction is driven by the hard work and relationships of my colleague Kevin Faulkner. Kevin spent more than 20 years coaching at NCAA Division 1 schools working with people like Brad Childress (Minnesota Vikings, Head Coach,) Andy Reid (Philadelphia Eagles, Head Coach), and Andy Talley (Villanova Wildcats, Head Coach),” Mike Kalinsky, CEO and President of Empyrean Management Group.
The list of items up for grabs this year already includes signed balls from the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers, Carolina Panthers, and the Baltimore Ravens. The Eagles, Bengals , Vikings, and Redskins are also expected to be sending signed items. Last year’s event included a signed ball from Rookie of the Year, Ronnie Brown, RB, Miami Dolphins. UCLA and Villanova were the first big time football programs to send autographed items along with commitments from the University of Missouri, Texas A&M, and Arizona State.
Dinner tickets, golf foursomes and sponsorship opportunities are still available for those interested. All fees and donations are tax deductible.
