XVD Technology Provides the University of California, San Diego with High Efficiency Television Links to their Affiliates

San Jose, CA (PRWEB) November 14, 2006 -- XVD Corporation, the pioneer of XVD™ digital media signal processing and compression -- the most advanced real-time video compression technology -- has teamed up with H&H System Integration, Inc. to provide University of California Television (UCTV), the satellite channel of the 10-campus University of California system based at UC San Diego, with several rugged and portable television systems containing bandwidth-efficient, high-performance XVD SD-TX100 CamCast encoders along with a small video switcher, audio mixer, computer scan converter, LCD monitors and other processing equipment.

According to XVD President & CEO, Keith Dunford, "The portable and rugged systems built by H & H System Integration, enable UCTV to easily and quickly establish network efficient remote television links in order to provide event content to their entire audience. XVD technology is a key enabling element of the innovative system developed by H&H Systems integration and provides clear evidence of the capabilities, reliability and economy of our encoders and decoders."

The SD-TX100 encoder in each system provides a bandwidth-efficient compressed digital television signal using advanced XVD™ technology to one of three SD-RX100 decoders located in the control room at UCTV. From there the signals are routed through frame synchronizers to a production switcher, and then to Master Control for broadcast on local UCSD-TV and nationwide on UCTV.

At only 5"x3"x1" while weighing under 16 ounces, and requiring less than 5 watts of power, the XVD encoders and decoders make it possible to design and build ultra-compact video acquisition systems that are extremely robust.

XVD CamCast high performance encoders, transmitters and decoders deliver real-time video across IP-based networks. These low-cost solutions have been proven to outperform all others -- at any price -- to provide the highest quality. Features include real-time SD encoding; all resolutions up to full D1; analog NTSC and PAL input; TCP/IP and RTP/FEC; and very high reliability.
