Ash Phoenix Books Created in the Memory of Ashlie Stell, Gives Young Poets a Unique Opportunity to Get Published
Chester, VA (PRWeb) November 29, 2006 -- Virginia author, Kristy Tallman has found through her personal experience that the press loves bad news -- when her seventeen year old daughter's accident came about, it was covered thoroughly by the press, but this time she hopes they will see the need for balance, that they will actually show the good that can come in spite of a tragedy.
Tallman is touring her debut novel, The All-Soul's Faire and dedicating the tour to her daughter Ashlie Nicole Stell, whom she lost one year ago. She was recently informed of another tribute that will be launched on December 2nd in Ashlie's memory by publishing company Gromagon Press out of Clearwater, Florida -- a new label Ashlie would have been proud to wear. Owner Malcolm Deeley, who's also a profound poet and already known for his contributions to those in need has created a subsidiary press called Ash Phoenix Books which will give young poets the opportunity to get their work published into chap books all dedicated in the memory of Ashlie -- to help give them the start they need - all this without taking a thing in return. Deeley promises they will keep all the profits they earn.
Malcolm Deeley stated in a press release on November 14th, 2006: "Gromagon Press is proud to announce the creation of a new division label, Ash Phoenix Books. This division of Gromagon Press is dedicated to the memory of Ashlie Stell, who died on November 28th, 2005, in a car accident on the way to Thomas Dale High School in Virginia. Ashlie's mother, author Kristy Tallman (who has also published under the pseudonym Rainey Moon), has been an active and outspoken voice in support of literacy, and for women and children seeking to work free from abusive home environments. She participated in the Gromagon Press benefit anthology Nox: Dark Poets Against Abuse. Her first novel, The All-Soul's Faire, was released in October 2006 to considerable critical acclaim. Ash Phoenix Books honors her daughter's memory, by giving an unusual level of support to poets in the beginning years of their careers."
