Indian River County, Florida Implements MobileHWY’s Field FORCE for Governments™ Mobile Solution
Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) March 11, 2006 –- MobileHWY today announced that Indian River County, Florida has implemented its Field FORCE for Governments™ field automation solution. The county’s Community Development Building Division deployed the Internet based mobile workforce solution to increase overall efficiency and enhance customer service.
With the explosion of new home construction in Southeast Florida, the Indian River County Community Development Building Division estimates they perform an average of 460 building inspections per day, with personnel spending as much as 4 hours of their day on paperwork related to the inspection process. Staffed with 20 building inspectors and an increasing workload, county Building Officials began looking for ways to increase the efficiency of their staff to meet the growing demands of the building community. “MobileHWY delivered on its promise to help us reach success with our field automation strategy,” stated Building Official James “Buddy” Akins. “Throughout the project, they were attentive to our needs and continue to provide exceptional customer support.”
County field personnel are utilizing Laptops and other Internet enable devices to access critical information in the field in real-time, receive their daily schedules, complete their tasks, and transmit those results directly into the county’s data system. Not only has this automation reduced the office hours required each day to complete paperwork, but it has provided the building community with access to inspection results and critical project information in real-time throughout the day, information that was only available at the close of each day prior to the Field FORCE™ implementation. Division Operations Manager Kery Jones stated that “the county has succeeded in making its processes more efficient, while making information more readily available to our customers.” The Field FORCE™ application was initially deployed in September 2005, and “has already reduced the amount of time spent on paperwork each day by 70%, allowing more field time for personnel to service customers and complete inspection requests,” according to Mr. Jones.
