Water Park Feature Arrives at Three Myrtle Beach Resorts
(PRWEB) June 23, 2006 -- Set sail on the “Silly Sub!”
On your next vacation, let your kids set sail on a new adventure. It only takes a few steps from your resort unit.
The www.MyrtleBeachHotels.com family of resorts introduces the “Silly Sub,” our newest interactive water adventure, now available at the Litchfield Beach and Golf Resort, Compass Cove Myrtle Beach Resort and the Long Bay Resort. As you relax by the surrounding shallow-depth pool, your kids’ imaginations will soar as they “man the controls” of the Silly Sub steering wheel, bark out orders through the netted portholes or simply splash their way through five water-sprayed entries.
“Children just love it. It gives them so much more to do than a regular pool,” said Ted Hucks of Hucks Pool Company of Myrtle Beach, which installed the Silly Subs they obtained from Texas-based NBGS International, an industry leader in water park attractions. Hucks surrounded each Sub with several of his company’s own features, including umbrella waterfalls, hanging splash buckets, sea dragons and spraying palm trees.
These elements combine to give families a water park experience, with the added convenience of not having to leave the resort to get it. “We’ve been coming to Long Bay for three years now, and we’ll definitely keep coming back now that this is here. The kids are having a blast,” said Brian Clark of Clarksville, Ga. as his daughter Taylor, 5, and son Dylan, 3, took a breather between play sessions. While his family has always enjoyed “together time” in the pools, Clark also noted that the safety of the Silly Sub’s fence-enclosed play area “lets me and my wife relax a little bit while the kids get to do and explore more on their own.”
The Silly Subs are just the latest in Hucks’ Myrtle Beach Hotel resort projects that have kept his company busy meeting the increasing demand for interactive water features (Ocean Reef Resort recently added their own attractions with Hucks’ help). The additions reflect the ever-changing needs of Grand Strand resort guests; pools and lazy rivers are great, but they’re just not enough anymore for young families.
A recent article in The Sun News highlighted this trend, noting that one family’s annual trek from Columbia to Myrtle Beach ends every year at The Breakers Resort for one reason that supersedes room quality, location or free breakfast offerings: the Pirate Ship Pool.
“This is the reason we come to The Breakers,” she told The Sun News. “My kids talk about going to the one where the pirate ship is. They kind of always have known the pirate ship.”
The more you get to know our growing water park features, the more you’ll want to come back, too.
