Return to Value – Real Estate Author Adds Another Free Article to Web Site

With sanity returning to the real estate market, investors must now understand the fundamentals of real estate to make money. The situation is similar to the stock market in the 1990s. At that time a joke was that money could be made on anything that said .com. Then sanity returned to the market and investors looked for value.

“When I published my book in 2004, few people were interested in value. The frenzy was on and people were buying anything and making money. With sanity returning to the real estate market, investors must add value to property to make money. In my book, I talk about two forms of value: utility value and esthetic value,” Affolter said. “In this article I talk a little bit about those two forms of value.”

Although the real estate market seems to be cooling down, there is still a lot of interest. Now people are being more cautious. Investors are wondering how to find value and protect their investment.

Even though many people say it is the best book on the market and the book has broad application it was written primarily for the novice real estate investor. “When I bought my first house I wasn’t thinking of it as an investment. I made some modifications that added utility value but had not fully considered the esthetic value. After studying real estate and applying the fundamentals of business I was amazed. I decided to teach as many people as I could what I had learned,” Affolter said.
