"We are excited about this move and the expanded opportunities it will provide for our programs," added Jones. "The Pleasanton Golf Center is working closely with us to support all our programs, including the Golf Coach Program, a unique instruction model built around supervised practice. In addition, we will be delivering several new lesson formats, which will make staying in touch with your coach even more affordable and convenient." Jones will also be helping to develop a variety of junior programs at The Pleasanton Golf Center.
Jones played college golf at Stanford University. He began his teaching career there in the early 90s with the Stanford Junior Summer camps, and he was also the JV Coach and Men's Varsity Assistant Coach. He has also taught at the Golf Lab facilities in Palo Alto, and Poppy Ridge in Livermore. Prior to turning pro in 2003 Eric spent more than 20 years in a variety of executive leadership positions and owned his own management consulting firm. Along the way he remained a competitive golfer and played in the California State Amateur as well as the Northern California amateur championships. In 2003, he won the Re/Max World Long Drive Championship. And in 2006 became the first golfer to win both the senior and open divisions of the Players Tour Championship. Jones is the grandson of Charlie Seaver, known as "Mr. California Golf." Seaver was the epitome of amateur golf and a consummate golfer who played for the love of the game, explained Jones. His values, ideals and integrity are the inspiration behind the Seaver Golf Academy.
