Hole-in-One Contest Added to CompTIA Creating Futures Charity Golf

Oakbrook Terrace, IL (PRWEB) June 4, 2008 -? The CompTIA Educational Foundation announced today that it has added a hole-in-one contest to its Second Annual Creating Futures Charity Golf Classic, scheduled August 4 in Orlando, Fla.

A 2008 Corvette Coupe, a Bose Wave® music system, a set of Nike irons, and a Sony Handycam® camcorder are the prizes available to any golfer skilled enough (or lucky enough) to ace one of the par three holes at Falcon?s Fire Golf Club, one of the Orlando area?s premier public courses. The 6,900-yard, par 72 championship course, designed by world-renowned golf course architect Rees Jones, has been awarded four stars by Golf Digest Magazine in their annual ?Places to Play? publication.

Proceeds from the Second Annual Creating Futures Charity Golf Classic event will benefit Creating Futures, an initiative of the CompTIA Educational Foundation that?s providing career opportunities to groups who have historically been under-represented in the IT workforce, including veterans transitioning out of the military, individuals with disabilities, at-risk youth, and dislocated workers. More than 1,000 individuals have benefitted from the programs offered through the CompTIA Educational Foundation.

Professional golfer and analyst Gary McCord is scheduled to participate in the Second Annual Creating Futures Charity Golf Classic. The well known color analyst on CBS Sports' golf telecasts, McCord played on the PGA Tour from 1974 through 1998, collecting more than $600,000 in earnings in 376 tournaments. In 1998 McCord joined the Champions Tour, where he?s earned over $4.5 million in winnings and won the 1999 Toshiba Senior Classic and the 1999 Ingersoll-Rand Senior Tour Championship.

The Second Annual Creating Futures Charity Golf Classic will be held in conjunction with Breakaway, the annual conference for CompTIA members. Breakaway 2008 is set for August 5-7 at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Orlando.
