Myrtle Beach Herald Readers Say Family Kingdom Amusement Park is the "Best Of The Year"

Myrtle Beach, SC (PRWEB) April 13, 2008 -- Family Kingdom Amusement Park has been named "Amusement Park Of The Year" in the 2007 annual "Best of the Year" poll of readers of the Myrtle Beach Herald.

Located on Ocean Boulevard in the heart of Myrtle Beach, Family Kingdom is the only seaside amusement park among the many amusement and water parks along the Grand Strand. It offers a complete amusement park experience with over 30 rides and attractions, in addition to midway games, family entertainment and traditional park temptations such as funnel cakes, cotton candy and corndogs. Opened in 1966, it is home to the legendary Swamp Fox wooden roller coaster and the largest Ferris wheel in the state of South Carolina.

"Generations of visitors have come to enjoy and appreciate what Family Kingdom has to offer in the way of family entertainment," said Leigh Meese, president of Family Kingdom Amusement Park. "The Myrtle Beach Herald poll represents the opinions of locals. They know Myrtle Beach best and are familiar with all the great entertainment the Grand Strand has to offer. So it's especially rewarding to know that they view Family Kingdom as the best. We've been a part of this community for more than 40 years and we look forward to continuing the tradition of entertaining families for years to come."

Unlike theme parks, there is no general admission to Family Kingdom. This budget-friendly policy enables families to stroll the midway affordably, buying tickets by the ride or saving even more by purchasing all-day wristbands that allow for unlimited rides. The bands cost about a third of the price paid for just the admission to a theme park.
