United States Golf Association Gets a Hole in One with Vocus On-Demand Public Relations Software
Lanham, MD (PRWEB) March 31, 2008 - Vocus, Inc. (www.vocus.com), (NASDAQ: VOCS) a leading provider of on-demand software for public relations management, today announced that the United States Golf Association (http://www.usga.org/home/index.html) (USGA), the national governing body of golf in this country and Mexico, has selected Vocus' PR software to manage its public relations activities. Using Vocus, the USGA will be able to raise awareness for each of its PR campaigns by building targeted media lists (http://www.vocus.com/content/prmediadb.asp) for its news, automatically monitoring and tracking news (http://www.vocus.com/content/prnewsdemand.asp) coverage and evaluating its messaging and impact (http://www.vocus.com/content/pranalytics.asp) with PR measurement tools.
"We had used other PR software prior to Vocus for individual parts of our programs, such as developing media lists in various geographical areas, but nothing that covered all of our PR needs," said Craig Smith, Director of Media Relations for the United States Golf Association. "With Vocus, we will be able to solve many of the key challenges facing us by building better targeted media lists for specific media interest, and generating them within minutes. It's all quite amazing."
Smith continued, "Vocus' easy-to-use system was able to offer us much more than the other solutions we looked at in the way of measurement tools. Vocus will not only help us get results but analyze them as well to find where our efforts are paying off, what is working and where we are weakest with our messaging."
The Association's most visible role is played out each season in conducting 13 national championships, including the U.S. Open, U.S. Women's Open and U.S. Senior Open. Ten additional USGA national championships are exclusively for amateurs, and include the U.S. Amateur and the U.S. Women's Amateur. With so much news surrounding each event, Vocus virtually assures that the messages the group sends reach their destinations.
"Vocus will enable us to automate a daily feed of our news coverage to our team as well as the upper management group. Now, our team and executives will always be able to see our PR impact and know what is being said about the organization, and by whom," said Smith.
Smith continued, "We are excited by the impact Vocus will have on our public relations and the insight it will provide into our current programs, and, mostly, the success it will help us achieve."
