Hollywood, Calif. (PRWEB) March 26, 2008 -- Prominent thought leaders from the private and public sectors are gathering in Southern California this week for the 2nd annual Tech Policy Summit, taking place March 26th through 28th at the Renaissance Hollywood hotel. Independently produced by SageScape LLC, the sold-out conference brings together top government officials, industry executives, consumer advocates and policy experts for an unfiltered look at the critical issues affecting technology innovation in the United States and beyond.
The theme for the 2008 Summit is Markets in Transition: Collaborating to Drive Technology Innovation and Adoption, and the program features more than 70 speakers, including Commissioner Robert McDowell of the Federal Communications Commission, Congressman Howard Berman, Qualcomm CEO Dr. Paul Jacobs, Undersecretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property Jon Dudas, BitTorrent president Ashwin Navin, craigslist founder Craig Newmark, Verizon EVP and CTO Richard Lynch and Ambassador Richard Russell of the President's Office of Science and Technology Policy.
Together with the distinguished participants attending the Summit, speakers will debate the key technology policy questions impacting industry and consumers in areas such as copyright, network neutrality, broadband deployment, international trade, wireless innovation and Internet safety. There will also be a special videotaped presentation by Viviane Reding, the European Union's Commissioner for Information Society and Media.
