Zogby Polls Most Accurate in Predicting John McCain As Winner in Florida According to USAElectionPolls.com

Washington D.C. (PRWEB) February 1, 2008 -- According to USAElectionPolls.com, Zogby made the most accurate of projections in the Florida Republican primary. The web site compared nine pollsters (http://www.usaelectionpolls.com/2008/articles/cnn-projects-john-mccain-winner-florida-primary-suffolk-zogby-012908005.html) who have released polls in the three days prior to the primary and found that only Suffolk University in addition to Zogby was accurate. There were five pollsters that called the race within one percentage point and two pollsters that had Mitt Romney winning the race by 2%.

Zogby International, in conjunction with Reuters and C-SPAN released Florida tracking polls in four consecutive days prior to the January 29th primary. The final tracking poll was one which they surveyed 941 likely Republican voters in Florida on January 27-28th.

The poll had John McCain receiving 35% and Mitt Romney getting 31% according to Zogby.com (http://www.zogby.com/news/ReadNews.dbm?ID=1440) which mirrored very closely to the true results in which it was McCain and Romney getting 36% and 31% respectively.

According to USAElectionPolls.com, "Pollsters have been having an off year. They predicted Barack Obama would win by an average of 8% yet Clinton was able to win by a narrow margin. Then in South Carolina, Obama's margin of victory was projected to be in the low teens but was roughly double that. As for the Republican race, they incorrectly projected a tight race in Michigan and in Florida yet the results were completely different."

Zogby's latest Republican poll has McCain ahead nationally but that was with Fred Thompson and others still in the race. Their latest Democratic poll revealed a dead heat between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. The next big election date is on Tuesday February 5th, aptly named Super Tuesday because 20 states will be holding nominating contests in the Republican race.
