Green Marries Pink: The Green Event Studio Launches Southern California's First Resource Center for Eco-Friendly Weddings and Events with a Green Car

Anaheim, CA (PRWEB) January 24, 2008 -- The Spiraled Stem Floral Design, a leader in environmentally sustainable floral design, and Foscari Events, a full service caterer featuring sustainably grown and raised ingredients in their menu, have aligned to launch The Green Event Studio. Starting with eco-friendly flowers and catering, the studio will feature a full range of products and services by summer 2008. The Green Event Studio will help the event planner with the sometimes difficult task of locating vendors necessary to produce green weddings, meeting, conferences and events.

The Green Carpet Reception will be hosted at the Green Event Studio's flagship location in Anaheim, CA on January 31, 2008. Guests will enjoy a sampling of Foscari Event's finest sustainable cuisine, experience the beauty and fragrance of VeriFlora-certified flowers designed by The Spiraled Stem, and sip on two signature cocktails -- "A Girls Night Out" compliments of Support Her Ultra-Premium Vodka and "The Sparkling Rose" compliments of Sence. The silent auction features celebrity hairstylist Abby Aguilera's services for hair extensions for a bride (to be selected with help from Brides Against Breast Cancer later this year) who is struggling with breast cancer treatment during the time of her wedding. Proceeds from the silent auction items will help offset the cost of the high-quality, real human hair that Abby Aguilera uses for her celebrity clients. Several silent auction items will be featured and all guests will have the opportunity to donate to Brides Against Breast Cancer through the Pink Envelope Project fundraiser. Amy Swift, editor-in-chief of Ladies Who Launch, will be on hand to sign copies of Ladies Who Launch: Entrepreneurship and Creativity as a Lifestyle, which has been an integral part of the Green Event Studio success story. A gift bag of eco-friendly products has been assembled for each guest to take home.

The Green Event Studio is the brainchild of Christine Saunders, owner of the Spiraled Stem Floral Design, and Maria Foscari, owner of Foscari Events. The two met in October 2007 and quickly realized they each were what the other was looking for, and the Green Event Studio was born. The studio, nestled in an industrial suite in Anaheim Canyon, has been remodeled with sustainable and recycled materials throughout, such as bamboo flooring, Vista Paint's Earth Coat low VOC paint, and energy efficient lighting. Many of the interior appointments, such as trim, molding, and windows, were purchased from Habitat for Humanity's ReStore. Proceeds from ReStore helps local affiliates fund the construction of Habitat houses within the community. Even the sink, where flower buckets will be filled, is made by Swanstone, which is a hard, non-porous material that is non-toxic, non-carcinogenic, chemically inert and qualifies for LEED® credit.

Even more exciting than what is in the Green Event Studio is what will be going out of it. The warehouse is the headquarters of The Spiraled Stem Floral Design, who uses VeriFlora-certified and organic flowers, and environmentally friendly containers such as the Blumebox, for wedding and corporate clients. Christine's designs, and the sustainability program behind her operations, captured the attention of Aramark Catering Services at the Anaheim Convention Center, who has become a key client and advocate of using environmentally friendly flowers. "The Spiraled Stem has become an important part of our mission to green the Anaheim Convention Center and our clients' meetings," says Debbie Juliani, Director of Marketing and VIP Events for Aramark. "VeriFlora-certified and organic flowers mean as much to us as organic produce and sustainable food products. The quality of the flowers is exceptional and the design of the Blumebox is unique.We look forward to working with The Spiraled Stem on future events."

The Green Event Studio is also where Maria Foscari, owner of Foscari Events, will meet her clients to create the delicious sustainable menus for their weddings and special occasions. Maria has owned Foscari Italian Cuisine, a well respected and established restaurant just down the road from the Green Event Studio in Anaheim Hills, for over 16 years. Foscari Events' expansion of their catering service is a natural extension of the restaurant, where all catering orders will be prepared with the same care and attention to quality as every meal served in house. "The quality at Foscari's is unsurpassed, the flavors are spot on, and the service is impeccable," raves Dave Feltch, President of Capo Industries Inc. and a long time fan. "Maria Foscari and her team have handled all of our events for the past ten years. In my opinion there is no other choice." Scott F.
