Perfect Golf Grip - You May Already Have It

How many times have you tried to rebuild your golf grip? How often have you searched the library or the internet for a good book on golf so you can find the perfect golf grip? If you answer "many" and "often" and you are not a brand new golfer and you have had lessons on your grip, then you have a problem.

Some people may find that hard to understand but you have to realize that there are only three basic golf grips in the golf universe. We have the Vardon grip, the 10 finger or baseball grip and the overlap grip. Any other golf grips are usually very difficult to master and best left to golf gurus or two the golf gods themselves.

The grip has one fundamental function-it allows you to hold onto the golf club, bring it back over your head and drive it back down to the ball and have the club face impact the ball SQUARELY! It drives the ball right straight down to the target. That's it in a nutshell. If you are having problems, then take a look somewhere else.

Take your setup. A bad one will usually make your golf grip seem like it just doesn't feel right. So you end up changing the grip instead of the setup and you still have problems. And so you keep going in circles, changing your grip and still not feeling right and still driving the ball in a book or a slice or topping the ball. Nothing changes except your grip. And in frustration you begin to change other things and all you've done is created more problems for your golf game.

Here is a good tip to try. Get yourself a good training aid with a built in grip and you can start to really see where your problems really are. The molded grips will always keep your hands in the proper position and you will then know that your problems are somewhere else. Plus you get a chance to reinforce a proper grip. And if you get one of the training clubs that break when you swing improperly then there is no guesswork. You know exactly what you need to work on.

Don't be one of those golfers who is constantly looking for the perfect golf grip. You may already have one now. You may actually be losing it if you're not careful. Once you get yourself a few golf lessons and understand how to grip the golf club perfectly, use a good training aid with a built-in grip to help you reinforce the perfect golf grip for you and concentrate on the other areas of your setup and golf swing. And watch your golf scores begin to drop.
