Save Their Story?, Inc. Partners with Commemorative Air Force at Las Vegas Air Show: Family Historian to Digitally Preserve Veterans' Stories

Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) November 6, 2007 -- This weekend, flight enthusiasts, history buffs and servicemen and women from around the country will converge on Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas for the Aviation Nation 2007 Air Show, a two-day event featuring programs, air demonstrations and aircraft displays. The event is also the capstone celebration for the 60th anniversary of the Air Force, and will honor both the distinguished branch of the military and its dedicated veterans.

The Commemorative Air Force, a group that will be participating in the event, seized the opportunity to document the stories of the gathered veterans with the assistance of Save Their Story, Inc., a national company based in San Diego, that creates personal history videos for families and organizations.

Dave Miller, a flight engineer in the Commemorative Air Force, contacted Save Their Story?, Inc.'s founder, Bridget Poizner, about interviewing some of the veterans after reading a letter about her company in USA Today.

"One of the most rewarding things I do as a participant in the Commemorative Air Force is being able to talk with some of these veterans and see the joy of them sharing their stories," Miller said. "They'll sometimes tell stories to us that they've never even shared with their families. There's something about them being near the aircraft, being around the guys; they seem to open up."

Poizner, a family historian, agreed to personally assist the veterans who visit the Commemorative Air Force's vintage planes with creating short videos at no cost if they would like to relate one of their war experiences.

"My company is often hired by the children or grandchildren of veterans who are anxious to keep safe the family stories that would otherwise be lost," Poizner said. "Their war experiences range from tragic to humorous. It is a privilege to contribute to preserving these stories that are so significant for them, their families and for history."

Each veteran who is interviewed will have free private access to his or her video interview at SaveTheirStory.com (http://www.SaveTheirStory.com). They will also have the option of granting public access to their story via Save Their Story (http://www.savetheirstory.com)'s website as well.
