Bustling Victorville, California, Relies On InterAct For Dispatching Fire Agencies
Winston-Salem, NC (PRWEB) September 17, 2007 -- Regional Fire Protection Authority (RFPA) in Victorville, CA, has relied on InterAct Public Safety Systems computer aided dispatch (http://www.interact911.com/public__safety__products/dispatch__systems/computer__aided__dispatch/index.htm) (CAD) for dispatching eight fire agencies for almost three years. InterAct, a leading provider of safety and security solutions used by local, state, national and international government agencies, has recently added 15 new mobile fire units in Apple Valley in addition to pre-existing InterAct CAD, InterAct geographic information system (http://www.interact911.com/public__safety__products/dispatch__systems/geographic_information_system/index.htm) (GIS) software, Sunpro CAD/RMS dumpand InterAct WebCAD.
Victorville, CA, is located in San Bernardino County, the largest county in the continental US. It is home to the Route 66 Museum and the San Bernardino County Fair. As part of San Bernardino County, the RFPA sees part of an increased tourist population of over 600,000 during holidays and have enacted Phase II wireless capabilities to keep up with the demands this kind of tourist population presents.
"Because of the size of our dispatch community, we have a lot of needs that need to be met," said Gloria Street, communications manager for Victorville RFPA. "We needed a system that would seamlessly interface with our pre-existing applications and offered a straight line for tech support. InterAct met these needs for us and has proved its efficiency for our center."
Victorville currently uses InterAct CAD, GIS and WebCAD with much success. With the recent addition of 15 new mobile fire units they have increased efficiency and streamlining of information regarding fire calls. Phase II wireless capabilities is also a great advantage for Victorville residents and tourists. Phase II wireless enabled InterAct CAD allows for dispatchers to locate mobile phone callers on the InterAct GIS map, which is especially useful if a caller does not know their exact location. The system can locate that caller to within three meters of their location, allowing dispatchers to get emergency services to the caller's location faster.
"We continue to add InterAct systems because of how well they work for us," said Street. "Overall they are very user friendly and the way the InterAct software is laid out makes it incredibly easy for us to train new staff. InterAct is our one stop shop for public safety needs."

Class Action Cases in California
Class Actions in California can be brought either in state courts or in federal courts in California. Because federal courts are considered to be more favorable for defendants than state courts, many plaintiff attorneys fight hard to keep such cases in the state courts and a battle often ensues early on in a lawsuit before the judge as to whether the case must be removed to federal court or if it can remain in the state court where it was originally filed.
