Florida Hospital College Salutes the Online Graduates in the RN-BSN Nursing Program
Orlando, FL (PRWEB) April 28, 2007 -- Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences (FHCHS) proudly acknowledges the hard work and effort of the class of 2007 who will graduate on April 29 from the online Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
The 106 students in this graduating class completed their degrees from locations as close as Orlando while others lived as far away as Japan. However, over the past two years they have come together online with a common goal to earn their Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree. In just three years, the FHCHS. online Bachelor of Science in Nursing program has become one of the most sought-after degrees of its kind in the country with more than 400 students currently enrolled.
"I take great pleasure in congratulating the graduates from the class of 2007 online Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program," said Nancy Haugen, Ph.D. R.N., Chair, Department of Nursing. "Over the years I have discovered that it takes a special kind of effort to complete an online degree. One needs a tremendous amount of self-discipline and motivation to be able to handle the challenges of work, family and educational responsibilities. I have no doubt that the drive to succeed these graduates have displayed throughout their education will serve them well as they continue with their careers. "
Many of the graduates have developed close relationships with their classmates through the online program even though they are spread throughout the country. The graduation ceremony in Orlando will be the first opportunity many of the graduates have to meet their colleagues face-to-face.
Some of the graduates share their thoughts about their experiences in the program:
Jennifer Aleman of St. Cloud, Fla. is a staff nurse on the intensive care unit at St. Cloud Regional Hospital: "What is most memorable is the support received throughout the program from both students and faculty," said Ms. Aleman. "There is such diversity among the students, even though we couldn't see each other, students from all over the country reached out to one another for academic assistance, support, and prayer in times of need. The faculty has always been just a click away. They always listen to the students' questions and concerns, and responded appropriately. The faculty has always made me feel like they are genuinely interested in my success, both in the Baccalaureate program, and as a nursing professional."
Patricia Crabtree, RN of New Orleans, La. is a clinical advisor - certified diabetes educator with Humana, Inc. "FHCHS's online BSN program has surpassed all of my expectations in every way. I just can't imagine a better RN to BSN nursing program, be it on campus or online," said Ms. Crabtree. "The classes have all been wonderful, but the heart of the program is by far, the people. Every single person at FHCHS that I have had the opportunity to interact with has been incredible, but most importantly, the instructors and facilitators have been phenomenal. I can't imagine that I could be attending any other school in the country, and honestly say these same things."
