Myrtle Beach Golf Course, Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country Club, Is An Elite Venue, According To Golf Business Magazine

Pawleys Island, S.C.(PRWEB) April 25, 2007 -- Pawleys Plantation in Pawleys Island, S.C., is one of Myrtle Beach's elite venues, according to Golf Business magazine. Pawleys Plantation was recently spotlighted in the April issue of the national publication in an article entitled "Back in the Game."

The article focused on Pawleys Plantation's ongoing multi-phase, comprehensive, five-year renovation plan. Pawleys Plantation worked closely with their golf course maintenance company, ValleyCrest, to undertake restorations while keeping the facility open to members and guests.

Phase one of the project began in winter 2005. A chronic problem of excessive shade was first addressed, followed by tree removal. Pawleys Plantation's management team focused on putting surfaces by implementing an aggressive greens management program, followed by a greenside bunker renovation program. By removing unwanted grasses and scrub trees, ValleyCrest enhanced the aesthetics of the course, creating more expansive views of the fairways and surrounding marshland. In addition, flags and tee markers were also replaced, and in late 2006, improvements focused on areas adjacent to the course. To date, Pawleys Plantation's golf course renovations are right on schedule with approximately half of the renovations completed.

"We are very pleased with our results so far and several reviewers from prominent rating panels have complimented us on the course conditioning," said Laura Rippy, general manager of Pawleys Plantation. "We have been able to maintain the delicate balance of undergoing a major renovation project without closing the course or disrupting play. Our goal is to exceed golfers expectations of the course, and to do this, we're working hard to deliver pristine conditioning. Our proactive approach has enabled Pawleys Plantation to maintain its position as one of Myrtle Beach's elite venues."

Budget-Awnings.com Attends IFAI Trade Show in Las Vegas, Nevada
Budget-awnings.com attended the 2007 IFAI trade show in Las Vegas early this October, with an eye to find emerging design and materials that can be adapted for affordable product lines. This year's expo covered avant garde awning designs through suspended atrium retractable awnings, unparalleled strength with telescopic retractable canopy systems, and unusual art-style sun shades called butterfly awnings. Other features, such as motion sensors and durable graphics printing systems, can improve the longevity of awnings, while new psycho-energy based approaches to color and fabric selections try to improve their aesthetics and appreciation.
