Alzheimer's Pooled Trust will Benefit People with Alzheimer's Disease in 10 Florida Counties
Clearwater, FL (PRWeb) March 25, 2007 -- The Center for Special Needs Trust Administration, Inc. announced today it has established The Alzheimer's Pooled Trust to benefit The Alzheimer's Association - Florida Gulf Coast Chapter, and other Alzheimer's Associations around the country.
Special Needs Trusts help people with disabilities receive the critical care and support they desperately need by allowing them to qualify for public programs such as Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income and subsidized housing, among others. The U.S. Congress passed legislation authorizing Special Needs Trusts in 1993.
This new trust will be available to people with Alzheimer's Disease across the country, including the more than 177,000 people living with the disease in Florida, according to Leo Govoni, director of the Center for Special Needs Trust Administration, Inc.
"We are delighted to join the Alzheimer's Association - Florida Gulf Coast Chapter in making this new trust available to its clients," Govoni said. "The Alzheimer's Pooled Trust will help protect thousands of people who suffer from Alzheimer's Disease and help to insure that these people have access to much-needed public programs that otherwise might be denied them."
In addition to establishing the new pooled trust, Govoni said the Center for Special Needs Trust Administration, Inc. will contribute $10,000 to support the Gulf Coast Chapter's Memory Walk fundraiser, taking place in three locations during the month of March - in Polk County on March 10, in Tampa on March 24 and in Sarasota on March 31.
The Center for Special Needs Trust Administration, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation developed to meet the needs of the disabled community through its trust administration and charitable giving program. As the largest independent provider of pooled trust services in the nation, The Center is the trustee for The National Pooled Trust, 13 state-specific pooled trusts and, most notably, for The Florida Pooled Trust, one of the nation's largest.
