Las Vegas Fashion Designer Overseeing ECO Fashion Show during Fashion Tradeshow Week
Las Vegas, NV (PRWeb) February 9, 2007 -- Las Vegas fashion designer, Julia O'Connor, is working with Las Vegas' first ECO Trade Show organizer, Howard Gabe, in showcasing exhibitor's fashions, as well as including designs created by local fashion design students considered "cruelty-free." The special runway show will take place on Monday evening, February 12, 2007, at 6PM at the Venetian Hotel & Casino, Grand Ballroom.
The ECO Trade Show will take place at the Venetian Hotel, Grand Ballroom, beginning Monday, February 12th through February 15th, 2007. The trade show will be open Monday through Wednesday from 10AM until 7PM, and 10AM until 3PM on Thursday. Attendees can register on-site.
For over 15 years, O'Connor has also been a cruelty-free/eco-friendly designer who freelances for various companies by promoting eco-friendly designs. She designs under her freelance business name, Zoom Kitty Zoom Designs, and offers a variety of services such as creating original artwork for graphics for children and adults, full-colour presentation boards, flat sketches of garments, sourcng for eco-friendly and cruelty-free materials and other fabrications, and more.
O'Connor moved to Las Vegas three years ago from Southern California and has found that there have been new and exciting opportunities since moving to the area. A new, fresh scene is what she needed and since then she has worked with several new companies by designing their apparel items. Even though she is not in a "fashion city" such as Los Angeles, it hasn't been a problem to find freelance clients in other states, as well as locally. Persistence and patience is crucial as well as a good knowledge of the fashion industry to keep up to date about all avenues.
O'Connor finds that the time is right for the mainstream consumer to embrace the "green movement" by becoming more of an agressive consumer, rather than a passive one. "People are learning to make more conscious choices of what they eat, drive and wear, and it has finally become something that is no longer just for the few. People can make a difference, and more of them are learning how to make good choices."
