REindex.com Releases Top 10 States Surfed for Real Estate Information
Falmouth, MA (PRWEB) January 11, 2007 -- The top ten state pages viewed on REindex.com were: Texas, Florida, Illinois, California, New York, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Washington, and New Jersey.
REindex.com is a Site Engine where surfers easily access companies that actually list property in each US town regardless of MLS membership.
"The Texas, California, and Florida results are understandable because the activity there is traditionally high, and they are large states," comments Heath Coker, site manager. Other states in the list are surprising, because the general media reports that there is a flight from New England to southern states. "Illinois and Minnesota are interesting members of the list, because they aren't in the south." A possible reason for these surprises is that large law firms and corporations with a desire to have a presence in the center of the country have been quietly researching those states' economies.
Besides the top ten list, other states that have seen growth in surfer interest include: New Mexico, Oregon, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Michigan, Kansas, Iowa and even Alaska. Some states have economic development groups that are using the Internet to encourage businesses to relocate there. Real Estate investors have begun to use the Internet to follow the efforts of these Economic Development Councils (EDCs) as a way of finding areas that will experience residential growth. For every newly created job in a community, there are 4-10 other employment opportunities required to support the needs of the new employee. By watching corporate relocation activity and other factors, investors can predict areas of growth more effectively.
"2007 should be an interesting year for real estate surfers," says Coker. "The amount of information available on local real estate web pages is amazing. We saw one agent in Hawaii who puts lava flow information on his site! I would never have thought to ask about that."
REindex.com reports data from various views. The top ten list is one view and another is the number of views per the size of the state. For example two different sized states with the same number of overall views would rank differently. The leaders in that category are Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Delaware, Washington, Connecticut, Hawaii, Arizona, Nevada, Alaska, and North Carolina.
As the Internet is becoming cluttered with irrelevant pages, REindex is quietly becoming a trusted site for surfers to quickly find links for real businesses where they actually work. Relevance and validity on REindex.com is a result of human review rather than computerized robots.
